Elmtree House

One big family, a home from home.

Elmtree House is a comfortable, homely conversion of an Edwardian redbrick villa on the quieter outskirts of Newton-le-Willows. It is set in its own modest grounds just a short walk or drive from the centre of town and is easy to reach by public transport.

This is a small residential care ‘family’ home, we can accommodate only 20 full-time residents which can include people who require EMI care here in Merseyside.

As a private residential home we can and do offer the personal touch, Care staff are on hand 24 hours a day, and you can talk to the Manager or the Owner directly if you wish.  At Elmtree House we understand the meaning of ‘person centred’ care; independence and individuality are respected, and the safety and comfort of residents are the prime considerations of everyone working here.

Personal touch

Residential Care bedrooms are well-decorated and comfortably furnished, however, residents are welcome to organise redecoration to suit their preferences and to install their own favourite furniture. Personal touches such as photographs and pictures are especially welcomed. All bedrooms are equipped with hand basins and some have en-suite toilets; rooms that are not en-suite have facilities close by.

There are 3 communal bathrooms, which are designed to suit a range of physical abilities and personal preference. One is equipped with a state-of-the-art Hi-Lo bath which incorporates an electronically controlled chair and a bathtub that rises. Another has been newly refurbished with a walk-in bath, and the third is a specially adapted shower room.

Entertain your friends and relatives

Three large lounges on the ground floor provide lots of space to mix with other residents, or to entertain friends and family. One is a ‘through’ lounge incorporating the main care staff station, another a large, comfortable TV lounge, and the third is a bright, airy conservatory diner.  There is also a small garden with a residents’ greenhouse and a patio area for ‘alfresco’ dining or entertaining, this also has a small fishpond.

Residents are invited to dine together, catered for by a full-time chef and support staff. However if you prefer to dine in the privacy of your room this is easily arranged. Entrance ramps, stair lifts and a passenger lift make getting around a little easier.

Recreation and socialising.

A variety of social events are usually on offer, including crafts, singalongs, visiting entertainers and even musical bingo. Birthdays merit a special celebration and visitors are warmly welcome to all our major events, which include Easter, a Summer Party, Christmas Fayre and various parties throughout the year.
